In Search of Memphre
NO LANES - NO LINES - NO BORDERS
On September 8, 2012, 7 marathon open-water swimmers will undertake to swim the 25-milelength of Lake Memphremagog between Magog and Newportand to cross the international border between Canada and the United States.
· We swim to promote a more open border with our neighbors and friends in Canada.
· We swim to raise money for IROC (Indoor Recreation Orleans County): a sports, fitness and recreation center built largely with private donations and serving the residents of one of the most rural areas of Vermont.
· We swim in search of the legendary lake creature Memphre
You can make a donation in support of an individual swimmer or make a general donation to support our cause. There is no better way to show your support for a more open border than to make a donation in support of this swim.
Thanks to our Swimmer Scouts for signing on to this second annual international swim In Search of Memphre!!! In addition to fees covering our costs, each Swimmer Scout has undertaken to raise a minimum of $1,000 in donations to support IROC.
